Beauty Budget: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Wraps

A few weeks ago, I went to my local 99 cent store and I was so excited to find these Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips for $1.99! Normally these retail for $8-$9. So I kind of went crazy and purchase like six of them. When you guys get a chance visit your local dollar store and buy these before they are all gone!

Valentine's Day: Candy Hearts with Polka Dots 2015

I decided to paint my nails this very cute design that consist of white polka dots and pastel color hearts. I've added a touch of diamond studs on my index and pinky finger to give it an edge to the design. This design is perfect to wear for Valentine's Day (which I'll be rockin' this Saturday). I hope everyone have a nice Valentine's Day!

Swatch of the Day: Essie - Mint Candy Apple

When I first heard about this nail polish color I thought this swatch of color was going to be a mint blue green polish. After checking out the pictures online I finally got a chance to purchase this color at a local nail supply store for $3.50. It was such a steal! My friend was the one who introduced me to this place which was a bit smaller compared to the other nail supply stores I've been too. However, I was super glad to find this polish on their shelves. This Mint Candy Apple is actually a baby blue pastel color. I didn't really see any hints of green in the polish. Overall, this polish is very opaque and reminds me of the blue skies. Its a pretty light blue swatch.

Haul & Swatches: Essie Nail Polish

The other day I was browsing around my local dollar store and I stumbled upon a bunch of Essie nail polish. I was so stoke to see that it was only $1.99 each. Normally, Essie nail polish retail for $8-$9 dollars at Target, Walmart, CVS, and other stores who carry that brand. Essie nail polish is 3-free (which means it doesn't have the top 3 chemicals: formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), and Toluene known to be harmful to the human body). So I decide to pick up three from the bunch in the colors: Resort Fling, As Gold As It Gets, and Cocktails & Coconuts.

Resort Fling
This orange creme color is perfect to wear during Spring and Summer.

As Gold As It Gets
This gold glitter polish adds a little glam to your nails.

Cocktails & Coconuts
This grey-ish brown color has a little hint of shimmer in the polish. From far away it looks like a cream polish but when you look closely there is specks of subtle glitter. Great to wear with any attire.

When in doubt, wear red!

Since Valentine's Day is coming up, I figured people who don't have time to design their nails should paint them a classic red color. Red is a symbol of love and compassion so why not. Any shade of red will do. My current obsession is this gorgeous red color from Chanel called Pirate. I really like the application for this nail polish. I feel like it dries fairly quick and their are no streaks when applied on the nails (so it's basically has a SMOOTH applications.) Also, I noticed a hint so floral since in their polish. Another reason why I reach for Chanel nail polish is because it is 5-free (which means it doesn't have formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DPB), and camphor; chemicals known to harm the human body).

TypeEd Nail Art Inspiration

TypeEd is an awesome place in Downtown Los Angeles where they teach the craft of typography back into graphic design education. I've taken two classes and two of their workshops and I have learned so much from them. Taking their design courses makes you more valuable in the design industry. If you guys ever want to sharpen your design skills, I highly recommend taking their design courses.

On another note, I decided to recreate this TypeEd typography inspired nail art on my nails. I painted my nails using Nicole by OPI - Follow Me On Glitter and white acrylic paint to achieve this look. This type is from their awesome and comfortable t-shirt!
